How does Charlotte compare to me and Brandon? At 12 months I was 22 lb 2 oz and 29.75 inches and Brandon was 22 lb 5 oz and 31 inches.
*Diaper size - size 4. I think Pampers Cruisers will be our new favorite after trying out Pampers Cruisers and Pampers Baby Dry last month.
*Clothing size - mostly 12 months
*Eats
Charlotte has tried all sorts of new foods this month. She has eaten all kinds of fruits, vegetables, tofu, fish, leeks, lentils, rice, pasta, pesto, Greek yogurt etc. If an adult is eating it, she wants to try it ... but rarely will eat enough to make up an entire meal. She still eats her canned baby food and is still drinking 5 big bottles of formula a day - which is something we are actively working to decrease. So far our attempts at a sippy cup are going poorly. I can barely remember the days where we were struggling to get her to take a bottle ... now she LOVES her bottle and would have a liquid diet if we let her! She will drink whole milk if we mix it in with her bottle, but refuses to drink it at all from a cup. She loves drinking water from a cup. One of our biggest problems with eating finger foods is that Charlotte would much rather feed Brutus than herself ... Charlotte thinks it is hilarious to feed him, and Brutus loves the table scraps. Not a good situation!!
LOVES bread at restaurants ... here at Brio for Mom's 57th birthday on June 22nd
*Sleep
Gone are our days with a baby who would sleep until 8AM. Now Charlotte is up between 5:45 and 6:15, ready to start her day! Bedtime is still somewhere between 7 and 8 PM, and she is going down easier than she did last month. Naps only exist if we rock her to sleep in the recliner (ugh!). Somehow the ladies at daycare usually manage to get her to nap, although I did get a report card last week in which her naps were recorded as "10:32 until 10:50" and "1:05 until 1:20" ...
Now that she is one, I got the okay from the pediatrician to put her cute bumper back in the crib!
Her favorite corner of the crib ... the only place she ever sleeps
Naptime! (Who would sleep in a crib for naps if given this option?)
Who would want to sleep when you could get up at 5:45 on a Saturday morning to play with all of these cool toys??

*Likes
Being held, crawling, feeding Brutus, feeding other people, pulling everything out of a purse or bag, reading books with things she can feel, taking walks (although it has been too hot to go on many walks), baths, pools, waving goodbye, pushing furniture or big boxes across the floor, splashing in Brutus's water bowl, her paci, her red wagon, her ride on push toy, her baby carriage
Unfortunately here she climbed into a dirty dishwasher ...
Naps, diaper changes (this is almost a 3 person job ... I have never seen a baby who flips over faster), getting dressed, having her face / mouth / nose wiped, being dropped off at daycare or the YMCA with anyone other than her favorite people (she has become VERY opinionated and particular both at daycare and the gym when it comes to who she lets us drop her off with ... we either have a happy child who squeals with delight when she gets dropped off or a screaming, frantic child depending on who happens to be there on a particular day)
*Milestones
Charlotte is still not walking ... but getting very close. Her balance has gotten much better this month; she stands independently and cruises all the way across a room on furniture. However, she still spends most of her time quickly scooting / crab-crawling around the floor. This is fast and effective for her, so she has not shown much interest in getting around any other way (such as on two feet!). She says "mama" and "dada", but pretty much just grunts and points to everything else. She is pointing at everything! She has gotten very good at throwing a ball, which she has been doing on some level for a few months. She likes to help unload the silverware from the dishwasher (which she eagerly climbs into whenever she gets the chance), and can help me make a cup of coffee from the Keurig in the mornings (she can put the pod in, push down the handle, and push the button to make the coffee). She now will pick up a hairbrush and start brushing her hair, or pick up the remote and aim it at the TV.
*Father's Day 2012
We took a nice family trip to the zoo ... I was still battling conjunctivitis which the three of us spread back and forth the entire month of June
Charlotte got Brandon a new lens for the camera!
Grilling out
Father-daughter nap
For Grandpa ... "I rock out to Phish with my grandpa!" Thanks eBay for this gift which was a hit! We also got Dad some Phish beer glasses to complete the Phish-themed Father's Day
*First Birthday Party, July 3rd
*Fourth of July 2012
July 4th on a Wednesday was weird! I got a surprise day off which was wonderful. Brandon had to work, but my mom also had the day off so we took Charlotte shopping at the mall because it was too miserably hot to do anything else!
*First time in the backyard pool
*Other snapshots from the month ...

We love you sweet girl! What a wonderful twelve months they have been!
