Brandon's Graduation

A lot has happened since my last post . . . a car wreck, board scores, a stolen phone, and most importantly, Brandon's graduation! I am so proud of all he has accomplished and am so excited for him. Given the current state of the economy, we are just thankful he has a job (let alone his top choice in the cardiac surgery ICU). Even nurses are having a hard time finding jobs in Birmingham! I know many others are not as fortunate, and we are certainly counting our blessings, despite some recent mishaps and bad luck.
We were so happy to have both of our families here to celebrate with us. Brandon's grandma drove down from Ohio, and Sarah and Blake were in town from Nashville.
Here is a picture of Brandon and his good friend, Ron Ragan.

A highlight of the ceremony was the group of bagpipe musicians who marched at the beginning and end of the ceremony. I also enjoyed all of the interesting and unusual names, such as Hercules (this person also happened to be wearing shorts and gold boots) and the last name Louis the XVI.

After the ceremony was over, we all headed to Brandon's parents' house on Lake Logan Martin for a party. Here's Brandon taking a break during a game of cornhole (for those of you unfamiliar with this game, check out Wikipedia's cornhole article).

What a wonderful day. Congratulations Brandon!
